These funds are provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services and by the State of Illinois and administered through the local offices of the Embarras River Basis Agency (ERBA) as well as the CEFS Economic Opportunity Corporation in our service area.

Households with elderly (60 years of age or older) or disabled (totally and permanently disabled or blind and receiving Federal Social Security Disability benefits, Civil Service Disability or Federal Supplemental Security Income benefits based on blindness or disability, Veterans Administration Disability benefits, Railroad Retirement Disability benefits, or any State Pension or payment based on blindness or disability) residents may apply for assistance in September or later. Applicants must be income eligible and elderly or disabled.  We will also do emergency services on any of these clients who, in your case, are below 25% on their tank.

Households with children under 6 as well as those households where the propane tank is below 25% (this will be verified by Superior LP) may apply in October or after.

All other households that make less than the income guidelines may apply in November or after.

Funds are distributed on a first come, first served basis till the funds are depleted.

To receive assistance, propane must be billed to one of the residents of the house. If the bill is in the landlord’s name, one of the resident’s names must be added to the account for that delivery location.

Funding may be available to help pay for natural gas, electricity, furnace repair, and to improve homes to become more energy efficient through various programs.
